    NO THROTTLE on start up

Happy New Year everyone. I have just come back from some mild dune driving at Robe. I now have a developing problem.
When I started up the engine today I had no throttle at all. Stopped the motor and recommenced the start procedure again , all good. However it has now done it a couple more times.
I have also noticed it clunking a bit when I select gears. It is a 1999 TD5 auto.
    Does anyone have any ideas.
    Regards, Nick.

    Mine's doing the same thing. 2004 D2a TD5 Auto.

Makes no difference with MAF unplugged.

Cleaned the MAP, no difference. Motor runs perfectly otherwise.

Put the Nanocom on it and did not show up much. Just the shuttle valve fault I have always had.
Also got 4.7 what ever that means.

Maybe check your TPS. I had a similar problem with mine and it was doing all sorts of weird things. I got under and had a look and I was missing 1 nut from the TPS assembly and the other one was loose. I bought one second hand and fitted it up and I have had no problems since. Also check your plug is pushed in properly.

If you have a look through the FAULT CODES sticky in the Electronic Diagnostics section you'll find listing of what the codes are:

(4,7) Driver Demand Supply Problem, (Logged High)

Driver Demand = TPS = Throttle Position Sensor.

The error code means the power supply for the TPS has exceeded the maximum expected value. That is likely to mean there is a short to supply voltage at some point in the wiring harness between the ECU and the pedal unit.
