XW switch issues
Happy,
D2 xyz switch, causes and effects
have a read of the info in this link, it may just be a low battery voltage or the wiring for the switch has rubbed through some where.

Hi Happy.
I just went through the XYZ switch thing.
The switch isn't cheap, about $700 and while its not a really hard thing to replace it's bloody awkward.
There are a few threads here that can help if you do it yourself.
Where I live in NQ we have and excellent LR mechanic in a no LR workshop. It took him 25 mins to fit mine.
You will need to extend you passenger side air con drain hose away from above the switch to comply with the warranty requirements with your new switch. Extending the hose is an easy job.
Hope this helps.
Rick.

XYZ
In my case it was just a matter of cleaning the oily film out of the plug on top of the gear box. has been good now for a year.
Regards Nick.
Also re-route the Air con drains if not already done. They drip onto the zyz switch and mess with the electronics therein.

As already mentioned, cleaning the plug and putting the extension tube on the a/c evap drain is a easy cheap first step.
