Thread: Starting issue

Hi guys,

My Td5 discovery has just started doing a funny thing on start up.
Each morning when I go to start the car I turn the key (always after waiting the appropriate time for the coil to heat up), it fires up for about 1 second goes dead for about 1 second and then fires up again and starts. This only happens in the morning and once it has started once it doesn't seem to happen again til the next morning. The key is fully turned the whole time.
I recently went away and had the car garaged for 2 months. Came back and had to get a jump start to get the car going as the battery charge had gone down to 8. That was 2 weeks ago and this problem has just started in the last four days. Happened every morning the last four mornings.
Any ideas?

No get a new battery These things are critical on a good battery
