HI Guys
Hope you are well
I have a problem with my TD5 D2 2001.
I got 2 keys with my car and the first key stopped responding and would not switch off the immobiliser. I got my other key fob and resoldered the micro switches back on and all was good. I basically made a good key fob out of 2.
However my other key got wet and has stopped responding. I got the key fob PCB and cleaned all of the tracks and put in a new battery and the red light comes on when you press the micro switches. when you put the fob inside the housing it does not work but when you take it out of the hosing it works.
I am guessing that it is on its very last legs.
Does anyone know where I can get a new fob and programming and if so how much. does anyone on here repair fobs?
Many thanks in advance.
Mike

Moved to the D2 forum with a one day redirect as it doesn't appear to read like its an emergency.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
There are companies online and on eBay that rebuild fobs but they may not be able to fix the problem with your key.
A Nanocom Evo can re-program any fob to your car provided the 6 digit code is legibe so a used fob may be the way to go.
Cheers, Bill.
In Perth, the transponder key can be bought new uncut from the likes of British Parts for round $250.00. Lock Stock & Farrel will cut the blank for round $6.00.
I can programme the D2 transponder, as can Rovertech, which by the way can do any Land Rover key programming including keyless entry as used on the newer models.
As for buying keys online, I randomly look now and then but only ever see listed for the D2 the 433MHz transponder and not the 315MHz as used in Aust and the U.S, casings and blanks are available cheap.
Regards
Daz
Only the early D2 are 315Mhz. Later ones are 433Mhz same as UK. My early D2 is 315 Mhz, and my key wont work in a friends 2001.
Edit: Ooops, just realised that Mike78 is Mikey who I coded 2 keys for! So Mike's car was definitely 433Mhz.
Anyone who does have 315 Mhz keys could do well to change to the 433Mhz version of the receiver like these from the UK. Search for 433 Mhz discovery 2 on Ebay UK if the link ever dies.
