Without putting a diagnostic on it, Id say its a given, common failure on a lot of vehicles, especially Toyota who call it a "squib", yet the 2 brands that get bagged (no pun intended) the most (Land Rover, Jeep) Ive changed out the least.
Do take care when changing out as the airbag unit in front needs to be removed, disconnect battery, go off and have a cup of tea while the current drains off (yes turn on headlights works) When fitting dont play with the new squib or clockspring, simple fit it carefully, even new ones can be a bit fragile.
