Those with SLS.. small favor needed.

Using a nanocom I am after the stock height sensor position numbers of a D2 with SLS.

Standard ride height and off road mode height.

In the Nanocom menu it's under SLABS 》 SLS input, we'll something like that.

I have installed SLS in my D1 UTE TD5 conversion and I am trying to fine tune it all.

    Thanks in advance
    Mick

    Rear heights

    Hi there
The nano figures mean nothing you can use
them as your base when you have set to
the correct height or whatever you fancy.

    Original stock measurements.
Hub centre to bottom edge of wheel-arch
    front 500mm +/- 15mm
    rear SLS 473mm +/- 15mm
    rear coils 485mm +/- 15mm

Should give you a good base to work from.

Front spring sag is a common thing dipping
under braking and crashing over speed bumps
And it also effects the rear heights.

Thanks Pete but I need the nanocom numbers to help get the geometry right for the height sensors. I have a D1 on 33" tyres with fibreglass flates and a 2" lift. so those numbers won't match my body. I have it all running but when i hit a bump or a dip at speed it triggers off road mode so i have the limits wrong.

    Heights

Figures will be different from car to car
even at the same height sensors work like
a fuel tank sensor (resistance ) so sensor
    reading will all differ.
62mm from bottom of bumpstop to axle
is the normal if its any help.

    Re think

Iv got it now you need the angle of the arm
at normal height relative to the sensor
Then get height of mount for sensor in the
    right place

I am at about 173 on both sides at my standard ride height so I am not far off. Anyone got off road mode numbers?

If this is a D1, I'm guessing this is an adapted unit.

Do you have a speed input?

I know the SLS will only manually go into Off-Road mode under 8km/h and then automatically cancel when 8km/h is exceeded.

I don't know however what causes it to happen automatically. The manual says something about the system sensing the vehicle being hung up on the chassis. I'm going to guess this also has something to do with the speed inputs from the wheel sensors as they would indicate a lose of traction. Maybe it's a factor of traction control engaged and vehicle speed under 8km/h = Auto Off Road mode.

    Happy Days.

Well its sort of a RRC / D1 / D2 with a touch of BMW X5. Really hard buying parts for it these days. Have to really think about what I am doing.

I have a full D2 loom, engine, auto, ecu so no different electronicly to a D2.

I think you need to look at what trigger the system to automatically activate off road mode to start deciphering your problem. It shouldn't be happening over 8km/h to start with.

    Happy Days.
