I don't know much about a D1 but I'm guessing it only has 1 speed sensor?

If so have you split it to 4 and fed it in via the 4 wheel sensors from the D2?

Checked my stored file. Go for 150 each side.

Set your bump clearances for what you want ( obviously don't have the bags over extended)
    Then store the heights.

There's no mention of needing Low Range in the manual. Just traction control activated by a lose of traction. If you don't have 4 separate wheel speed sensors, yours shouldn't be able to do it.

How are you getting by with warning lights on the dash. Does the D2 dash fit in the D1 or are you missing warning lights?

I stand corrected and learn something new every day.

    Extended mode
The extended mode is automatically operated by the ECU and requires no input from the driver. Extended mode operates when the chassis is grounded causing the rear wheels to spin. This information is generated by the ABS function of the SLABS ECU.

When the ECU senses that the chassis is grounded and the vehicle speed is less than 6 mph (10 km/h), the ECU will operate the compressor and energise the air control valves for 25 seconds to raise the rear of the vehicle. This operates irrespective of the mode that the SLS system is in at that time. To inform the driver, the ORM warning lamp will flash continuously at all times that the system is in extended mode.

Maybe the key here is that if there is only one wheel sensor being used - traction control is considered lost because as far as the system is concerned one wheel is moving at a different speed from the other three?

D1 has 4 wheel speed sensors much like the D2 even uses the same ABS plug.

I had to machine abs reluctor rings in to the front CV's as the type i run don't have them. The rear use a slotted disc on the inside of the brake rotor.

I ran only rear ABS sensors for a while and didn't have any issues until the last time i went off road and now i think i filled the back of the rotor with mud and it's causing low signal for the right rear.

I checked the system with the nanocom today and i have weak signal from both front now which is not good. It makes sense if i have 1 sensor on the rear intermittently working it could tick the ECU in to thinking that i was spinning wheels. Ill have to check it out.

I think your on to something here.

Does the D1 have 4 wheel speed sensors as standard or are they something you have added? If they are added and not standard, does the front count the same number of pulses as the rear?

    Happy Days.

Yep D1 had ABS as standard on some models.

The tooth count is the same front and rear. I think it's 62???
