Our Land Rover broke down while driving, we pulled aside and cannot get the car back working. We thought it might me the petrol, which it probably was but we suspect that is not the only problem, it seems there's more to it. We ran out of diesel, put another 10 litres in and we were turning the ignition on and off for 12 times to stop the air blocking the gas. So it didn't work, we did it again, but still no use. We did try to start the car a few times before and don't know if this had a bad impact on the motor. Now we are stuck here and don't know what to do. Also the mode lights M and S are both flashing when we turn the ignition on. we arrived to Perth 3 days ago, we've driven 5000km in the last month..
Might help us a bit more to know a bit more about what happened, and what your vehicle is.
Sounds like you tried to prime it by cranking the motor after running out of fuel, which may or may not work depending on the vehicle type.
Tell us a bit more.

I think you may have flattened the battery,it needs to be in very good condition to run the fuel pump that many times.
If a battery(jumper leads are OK) doesnt get it going the fuel pump may have expired.You should be able to hear it clearly whilst priming.

Key to ignition position one, pump the throttle ten times until the check engine light flashes. Wait 5 minutes or so then try it. Worked when I ran out and the handbook method didn't work

We took the car to North Perth Prestige and are waiting for it to be fixed. The fuel pump is broken and they said it costs 800 something plus the filter is 38 and altogether 1150$. I am pretty frustrated but well what can i do..
