Thread: Disco 2 TC and decent control fault.

I'm no expert myself, but there are suggestions in some other threads. (1) Find someone with a Nanocom or similar and get the fault codes read. That will tell you where the issue is. Pending that, (2) check your front wheel bearings for play, (3) check the wires to the ABS speed sensors on all four wheels for breakages, (4) check the connectors and so on. Maybe (5) use a powerwash to clean any dirt from around the ABS sensors.

Providing the LEDs haven't been tampered with and only ETC and HDC are illuminated this would indicate that the Engine Data received by the SLABS is corrupted in someway. RAVE suggests "Sticking Throttle, signal failure, data corruption".

Hint: Find your (or purchase a) copy of RAVE and open to page 70-23 "Brakes: Operation and Description" and refer to the table titled "Warning Lamp Fault Operation".

I'm not particularly familiar with the foibles of the V8, but I'd suggest checking the connectors and loom between the ECM and SLABS to check for damage or backed out contacts as a starting point. RAVE is pretty much essential for this kind of testing, as it contains wiring diagrams and connector location and pinout information.

Checking the SLABS and ECM fault codes will give you a better idea of the exact cause. I would not bother chasing hubs, sensors, or SVS's until you see codes that implicate these items.
