    Wasn't claiming that they do.

It's likely because the TD5 owners are more "civilised" than their V8 "hoon" cousins

    Now now children play nicely.

A good Td5 is a joy to drive.

A bad Td5 is going to cost money.

Exactly the same with the V8s.

Brenno? Come for a drive with me mate

I have spoken in passing this last few months with British Offroad and Jag and Rover spares. I told them both that down the track at say 300,000k when my 4.0 is tired I might look at a 4.6. Both indicated that with regular oil chnages and keeping the cooling system right they will do 500,000 with no dramas and plenty of go. So much for lack of longevity in petrol motors.

    Cheers

Muppet, if I'm ever up that way, I most certainly will mate.

If you're ever down this way, I extend the same to you.

The V8s sound good, but aren't going to set the world on fire...
X2, I know this from first hand experience, especially uphill

Plus there's bugger all you can do to juice the 8s up whereas there's plenty you can do to get the 5 pot hauling.

I got the 8 because it was the right price at the right time but in hindsight I should have waited out for a diesel

And I should have waited for one with ACE, or SLS, or better priced, or more features.
    But I didn't
And I wouldn't change that for the world
