Thread: Air Suspension issue after flat battery

Also not sure if this helps ( anyone who knows me know that I have no mechanical aptitude ) but I located the compressor and it seems to run for about 10 secs or so then stops when I first start the car. Is it meant to go longer than that?

Not sure if the disco will be the same but a RRP38 dropped like that.
Put the key in the ignition an turn it on without starting the car.
Leave it on and the computer should right itself.

Try going for a very careful drive around the block. I have done this a couple of times in the past and the ride hieght back to normal by the time I got back.

Thanks for the replies. I also did a bit of research, there were options of turning car on and off 5 times, driving over a piece of wood, checking fuses etc. Anyway, I did a combo. I checked all fuses, especially the door ones, all the ones under the bonnet and also disconnected the battery to hopefully reboot it. I also used a high lift jack to raise the rear off the bump stops as that could mess with the height sensors and put compressor under duress if it were working.
So did all that and car wouldn't frigging start. Ok, so maybe issue with the battery. Put the charger on it and tried again, car started, got out and the Smokey had raised itself off the high lift jack. Took for a spin, up and over the kerb, came back and raised to off road height. So SWMBO is bringing back a new battery as that seems to be the common denominator. Will update later as to whether Smokey has dropped and whether battery has made a difference.
I also did a bit of a read on the Rave CD, not that I know much, but was able to determine that the battery through the ECM I think punches through a certain voltage. So if the battery is rooted and the the car is on the bumpstops, then chances of getting it to raise it all the way is perhaps not going to happen. That's my theory anyway ,

What testing have you done if you have a leak in bags pipes
or valves the compressor will run it could run till it overheats
and seizes or flattens the battery.
Have you tried the soapy water test on bags at offroad height.
Can you hear the compressor running more than normal.

Ive done none of the above. Can't hear the compressor. ...will know in morning what the go is if Smokey is slumped and a dead battery. My gut feel is it isn't a leak but related to the flat battery. Ive had leaking bags in the past...would always pump up.

I have left mine for a week with the battery disconnected and the suspension remained pumped up.But as you say it is vital for these to have correct voltage or all hell will break loose.

Hell is breaking loose as we speak. Sitting here with kids in the car charging battery :banghead:.
