Yes I've Plastidipped my silver rims - takes a bit of a beating when driving off-road but very easy to give it another coat afterwards. And if you don't like it, just peel it off and its back to normal.

Mate they look good in matt - 3 questions, how did you prep and dip? How do you clean them? Can you post a pick some distance back showing the whole vehicle side on ?

    Many thanks

Prepping is easy - just wash it properly and let it dry. I remove the wheels from the vehicle and give it about 4 coats black with 30 min drying time between each coat - this is about 1 can of spray. Followed by about 4 coats if 'clear' Plastidip as a sealant. Just pull off overspray on the tire. I use either PlastiDip or the Armour All equivalent from Supercheap - works just as well. Cleaning - brush and soap followec by high pressure hose at self-serve car wash venue. The beauty us that the wheels on the photo hasnt been washed for a month - still looks okay in the black. This is the best side photo I have on my phone - the bull bar was also Dipped ImageUploadedByTapatalk1394673648.470536.jpg

Cheers mate. How does it go spinning in mud etc - must rip it off? Although the d4 doesn't spin much.

    Cheers

Took it through mud holes in Barrington Tops and they did pick up a few nicks - gave it another coat when I came back and all perfect again.

    They look great.
When you say if you dont like it just peel it off, is it as simple as that? Sounds like a good option.

If it had been applied thick enough, it just peels off yes. Like on the side vents that I've also done, you just block off a square around it with painters tape and newspaper, spray it and peel off the unwanted parts - same with the letters on the bull bar. Magic stuff

Not to sure if its the same product or not, but I got a quote from a mob in QLD for a product called "Liquid Wrap", which is a spray on vinyl.

It does'nt come in a can though, you need a spray outfit to apply it. They supply an Ozito Low Preaure electric gun. The more coats the better/hardier it will be on the car/wheels. 10-20 mins between coats, seems pretty easy, and about $100 to do a set of wheels.
