I think it may come in around the seal on the front foot of the roof bar.
I had a few drops come in at the front of the door and so I smeared Sikaflex completely around all of the roof bar mounts and AFAIK no more water even in the recent heavy rain.
I also sealed all along the gutter where it meets the roof as I have read that sometimes there are gaps in the sealant. Also I Sikaflexed all around the alpine windows.

I had the same, both sides. Happened after we went on a really rough track, I think the body flexed, & the seal around the top of the windscreen let go. [ all I can think of] I removed the fixings on the roof lining in the front, dropped it down enough to apply sealant all along the inside, then did same under the rubber seal on the top of the screen on the outside. A cheap fix, and it worked. A proper fix, I guess, is remove the screen & re-seal. Not cheap. Bob

Mine developed a leak above the passengers windscreen corner, I 'taped' around the roof bars and the water slowed. I also found a thread that mentions the filler at the front edge of the roof channels dries and cracks and allows water in.
I decided to attack all these and removed the roof lining, (had it recovered while out) resealed the roof bars, and removed and resealed the front corners of the roof channels.
Have had no water at all in 8 months, and car is parked outside in all kinds of weather.

The sealing at the top of the A pillars on D2s is notoriously bad.
    I'd check there tbh

when I had a d2 it developed a leak which dripped from the mirror it turned out to be from factory a air pocket in the windscreen seal which eventually connected to the edge allowing the ingress of water. New screen fitted under warranty as there were a few like that. 2003 build

Had the same problem. Windscreen leaking in the corner at the top of the A pillar. Used to run down on the floor and also over the dash from the rear view mirror. The hood lining was stained from the water. Claimed damage and workmanship through insurance. Had a new hood lining and new windscreen fitted by insurance company. The new windscreen leaked from new and so had a new screen fitted under warranty. No more problems in the last 12 months. My Daughter and Son in Law are now having the same problem. Try using a hose and hold it above the A pillar. I think you will find water coming in. good luck.
