    More spending

Get a new cooler and pipes either genuine or get pipes made
    up to suit
Old cooler and lines will have all that nice shiney bits inside
don't get them in new box pipes are quite a common fail for
a few more bucks do it once.

Sorry tp say that 200+K is about auto trans life on average for these vehicles, silvery oil means a full rebuild, and new oil cooler or there will be no warranty. you CANNOT clean the coolers effectively.

'Transmissions r us' are very good operators and know there stuff.

The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

My gearbox went on me at 217000kms and until that time did not miss a beat
got quoted on average $5500 for recon gearbox plus install from a few different places
but was lucky enough to find second hand box with 142000kms on it and bloke to install all up for $1600
but like most said and after research 200-250,000kms is the usual life span of the auto gearbox

With a touch over 300 000kms on my auto I'm just gonna pretend I never saw this thread...

(But I can feel the difference a filter and fluid change has made after only 200kms of driving so I hope that any gremlins that may be lurking in there stay hidden.)

Best of luck with your troubles disco2003td5.

If you bought off of a lot / dealer, I thought they had to provide a 3month warranty, unless other wise stated. I would look into that before spending of your own cash.
I do not know what they thought you did in 500kms to blow the tranny!

The zf4hp24 is meant to be good for 450nm. A stage 2 remap from someone like td5inside and an EGT gauge to make sure you don't hold peak power for too long (which you wouldn't unless towing a load up a long hill) will give you low cost reliable performance upgrade and it will transform the D2.

EDIT: did not realise the Td5 came with the hp24. If you have a hp22 then this is rated for 380nm.
