Thread: Thanks for all the help - much appreciated

I now have a leased car through work so unfortunately my beloved 'Ruby' has to go.

But I can't leave this forum without thanking you all for helping with advice, comments, photo sequences to work through and general good humour.

I've learnt a huge amount about engines and suspension over the last few years - and a really nice feature of the D2 is it is reasonably easy to work on.

I have to admit to a love/hate relationship at times, but there is a deep satisfaction at achieving things - my most memorable being replacing the viscous fan bearing by cooling the bearing, heating up the surrounds then pushing it in before it got stuck! Shouted myself a beer after that one....

PS Probably still be lurking on the forum occasionally as I love the 'Show us your Disco' thread!

Don't worry - Landrovers are in my blood now. When the lease expires I'll be looking for a Defender (maybe the 'new' model)! Or maybe another D2.


But for the short term I can't justify 2 4wd's and the cost of 2 kids at uni....
