Thread: No Radio & No A/C (Fan). Which Relay?

I had a simular experience when I hit a large bump but in my case the air con and the horn stopped working the fan was still running but the clutch for the compressor would not engage.
It turned out to be the horn and air con relays were loose they are both next to each other in the engine bay fuse box, try pushing on all of the relays in the box to see if any are loose.

I think you are on the money. I was stuffing around with those the other day. Maybe I didn't push it back in properly.

My a/c stopped working and my expert took out the relay box under the bonnet and tightened up the underneath connectors and put everything back together. Apparently, not a that uncommon problem/solution - good luck.

Not sure how you tighten these up as they are all plug in. Yes, had a look today. Did a bit of giggling but no difference.

I'm a bit at a lose with this problem.

It's only the fan for the A/C in the car as everything else appears to be working. Fan on the engine works, fridge gas seems to be OK.

Still not sure about the radio.

I had a problem with no air con, in particular, no fan, but every thing else working as should be.
After a lot of fiddling around and trouble shooting it ended up being a dry solder in the back of the fuse box below the steering wheel.
It is a bit of work to remove.

Before removing though, have you confirmed that the fan works, by removing and hitting it with a few volts.

I now remember that the other problem was the actual relay - had to replace the one under the bonnet on the drivers side. Worth some investigation.

The early D2s did have a joint soldering problem with the fuse boxs if I recall . Have heard of a few having to redo the soldering. Having said that dry joints tend to show up as intermittent on the way out.
