    AAARRGGHH!!!!!

    Surely a turbo (even 2nd hand) should last more than 380km...

    Obviously I have more problems...

    Did you check the oil feed to the turbo ?

    did you prefill the turbo with oil prior to fitting the oil feed hose?

    Yes to both - the oil feed was sufficient to empty the sump out the exhaust pipe in the 5 km I limped home after the turbo failed

    What about the drain? If that's blocked, there won't be much in the way of oil flow. The pressure might be fine but it won't help if new oil isn't getting to the bearings.

    well id say when the s/h was removed it had crap fall in with the bearings would be my guess

    When I got the new used turbo the shaft spun free & smooth with no slop...
    Did all this last october as well
    Not having much luck with this disco - kinda wishing I still had my deefer. Or my S3 swb

    Decided its probably the oil return pipe. Decided further to fix it & keep it rather than spit the dummy & get a tojoka
