a recall caused the extinction of the connector, in some cases. as for the splice question.. no problems with that. I extended all of my sensor wires with a length of direct burial low voltage wire ($4 us extensions are $175 us). I ohmed them out to make sure my wires stayed on the same side. ( do not know that it would make a difference) used standard butt splices and heat shrinked them. they work great for me and no longer get yanked free when my axle drops.

SubscriberI am starting to get wheel sensors faults and I think its because I have a 2 inch lift now...way too co-incidental. I have the old connector jobs in the wheel arch. So is the full loom or just the short overlay one the best? Have you got that part number handy Justin?

Im not convinced. ( Sorry I'm editing this as I realised I sound a lot like some of the usual Know it alls on here quoting evidence from a random sample of 1. I don't mean to imply it can't happen, but I have stretched the suspension as far as it will go over the last 5 years with no ill effects. What I meant to say that there is probably a far more prosaic reason that the suspension pulling the leads apart. Not to say it couldn't happen, but unlikely from what i have seen.) More than likely you will have the faults showing up on one wheel in particular, as opposed to all wheels if a suspension lift were the cause. Check with nano com, and narrow down. Then test sensor with replacement, but inspect reluctor ring as well, as this can be the cause.Originally Posted by ozscott

SupporterI ran 4" suspension lift on my Disco with the standard ABS sensor wires - every now and then the rear plugs would disconnect, but not often. Now that I've gone down to 3" I haven't had an issue. You should be able to do it fine with 2".
