    Turbo oil path?

    Does the oil go in at the top & out at thr bottom or in at the bottom & out at the top?

    Both oil pipes can be blown through with minimal effort, so I'm a bit baffled as to where the oil flow blockage is that keeps destroying my turbos...

    Just a thought - if the bypass valve for the spin-on oil filter is sticking, could it cause these problems?

    Yes it could cause problems. I think the best bet is disconnect the turbo feedline and connect a gauge into it , crank the engine and observe the results. No pressure/ low pressure could indicate a blockage in the filter housing. Or just remove the filter housing and check the ports and thermostat. it appears there is definitely some problem there

    Already got the filter housing off, but I'm not sure what to look for

    You dont have a copy of RAVE? It gives you an idea of what ports and flow path

    Ahh oki. Right, I have never had mine off yet so am just using generic fault finding ideas, but if you have it off remove the thermostat and check ports and galleries with air gun. That is really all I can say, sorry.

    Pulled off the circlip but there was no way I could get the plug behind it out. AFAIK by puffing, there was passage thru most of the ports but not necessarily from the main port to the one that feeds the turbo

    Additional - I can see the thermostat type thingy down the centre of the filter mount pipe, but I can't budge it with a screwdriver & I didn't want to get too rough for fear of doing further damage
