    More interest

As the title says it looks like a good gadget but I would
like to know what functions work on the TD5
    Some pics would be good
I would like somthing to be plugged in that can monitor heat
    an alarm would be great.
Fault codes can they be read and cleared?
    How long is the lead?

    Thanks in advance

I currently have mine temporarily in SWMBO's car, and won't have my Puma Defender home until Saturday now, so unfortunately I have no pics of mounting.

The low fuel alarm has gone off for me, which I assume is the same tone as the over temperature alarm. You can set an alarm on pretty much all of the gauges, and definitely temperature is one of them.

You can see instant, average and distance to empty fuel readouts. DTE accuracy depends on the sensors in your car, and instant gets scary when giving a bit of right foot starting out on an uphill!

So far I have not had a fault to read - boring!

Some good chatter and mounting pics here: In praise of the Ultra-gauge - Land Rover Forums - Land Rover Enthusiast Forum ...and vids / walkthroughs here... UltraGauge - YouTube

Didn't work with my older Suzuki either, as the OBD was non-compliant.

The cable length on mine is about 1.75m.

    Im a bit confused .

Is the Discovery Td5 2000-2002 OBDII compliant.

Because the Ultra Gauge page says this unit is not compatible.

I think you will find, in fact I am sure, that the discovery and defenders are not compatible with the USA "standard" OBDII system. They have their "Own" standard, which is why we have Nanacom developed that does not suit other vechiles.
I may be wrong I seem to recall being told I was once

I have put my BT OBD2 scanner in my D2 TD5 and really nothing worked. So for me at least while the plug is an OBD2 not much was coming out the port. (The scanner works fine on the current model BT50 showing all kinds of information)

The D2 TD5 and the later model Defenders were not sold into the US market, So may be it is the oddball 1? As I have a TD5 I may have only read that they are not? It will be interesting if the device will work

Just looked at the pics of the D2's in the forum mentioned previously....it seems that they are all V8s so I would guess you are correct
