Perhaps I'm just used to my toyota handbag that would easily hit 6k on kickdown

Today I had no problems exceeding 120km/h.....
Will rev past 3k, will hit 4k, strange....
I'm about to go change the air filter, will see what the MAF grill looks like.

Well this was definitely due for a change.... What grease do people use for sealing the lip?

    MAF looks pretty gunky too....

I'll see how the new air filter goes, and a clean up on the weekend

How dusty was the inside the top lid? From the look of the MAF a bit has been getting in around the filter. No grease on the airfilter lip , install dry. Any petroleum product on the rubber and its cactus! I think 6k in a TD5 is serious bad dream territory LOL But yeah how well and far will 6k get the toymota in 18 inchs of water and mud?

Fairly dusty, I'll give it a clean out and keep an eye on it.
TBH I think the MAF looked like that last time I checked it, which was 2012....

The FPR leak has DEFINITELY gotten worse, so once that's sorted it will be interesting to see if there's much improvement.
Chatting to Tombie has raised the idea that a fault in the MAF will be much more apparent once it's remapped.
Funny thing, I've done a water crossing in the toyota...

yes Mine was too the first time I checked but the filter had been istalled a bit crooked .since the snorkel and new filter it seems to be oki............
Be careful of the FPR, they can suddenly decide to be nasty, bit like Mt Etna, lots of farting then a big ...........!!

My airbox isn't even square, definitely doesn't seal properly. Sigh. Another job to do.
    My MAF looks awfully similar.

Mine was definitely noticeably worse today, giving it a kick in the guts wouldn't hit 4 from stopped...
However my FPR is pretty well ****ing out now!
Fingers crossed a clean clears it up.
