2004 Disco 2 RH Door Electric Winder Harness

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how to fix or replace the door winder harness and if there's a "How To" on the Forum?

On occasions the window wont work, either up or down however if I hold the winder button and open the door it will, have been told is a common problem with the later model Discos!

Need to get it fix finding it hard to open the door whilst driving to either raise or lower the window!!

    Cheers,
    G S

It will most likely be the window regulator not the harness.

I have a 2003 model and I have now replace both front left and right window regulators. This is a very common problem as the nylon wheels are suspect.

Try window regulator in your search.

    Regards
    Andrew

(after reading your post again I'm taking window harness to mean window regulator. I initially assumed you were referring to the electrics)

I think maybe a faulty connection certainly. You really need the RAVE ( available via Daves Shop link^) electric library to follow it up as it is very hard to describe via chat Another possibility is the fuse box, dry solder joints affect them. Check the fuses, remove , replace. Sometimes that can fix it. If the radio does it too it is unlikely to be in the actual door harness, though stranger stuff happens
    Cheers Scott

PS likely an earthing flow problem, the opening of the door creates an earth path via the interior lights!

    Damaged wiring

The fact that the window can work with door open
points to damaged wiring usually in the rubber corrugated
bit between pillar and door or at either point where it
    enters the door or pillar.

Should be a easy fix you should pull back the outer sheath
More than likely see or feel break or cuts in wire.

Solder or crimp in a new piece of wire then insulate

Thanks for your help guys, I think "ScotsD2" is on the money, a couple of times from shear frustration I wriggled the corrugated rubber and would work until the next time I opened or closed the door.

Now to hunt for the right wire!

    Thanks again
