Thread: crunch/clunk uh oh!!! whats happened now

Inept me mechanics even with RAVE, and a 3 page email on how to refill it screwed it up while it was in for smash repairs. Also replaced the winch and I should have a new top hatted 5.0 coming from turners soon as they put the thermostat in backwards.

Wow. I've done some pretty dumb things at times, but never quite that epic, and never on anyone else's car, and never charged money to do so either.

Well there's 7K for repairs, 3k for winch, 7k for auto and importing...

Then there's the engine, a/c thats failed (leak), auto cooler leaking...

So got the word back from mechanic and its worst case
gearbox has gone...yeah I awesome...so the calls began and cheapest quote $4500 installed.
so looks like I have an expensive lawn ornament for a while or just cut my loses and scrap it

Call Ashcrofts and work out what it will cost you at the moment. But I suspect the dollars tanked some since I did it.

Oh and factor in it won't come door to door, slam and shame DHL over their charges ($84-to send an email?) and they'll drop them as it's cheaper than returning the goods which they're required to do. And there will be GST. Ian is reasonable on what's on the invoice that's packed vs the one posted.
