Sounds like the bearings have been tightened too much.

Hi everyone,
The last oil change I got done it was found the the rear brake calipers were seized and subsequently the rotors were ruined and replaced.
Having just done 200kms I checked the rear wheels for heat and the rims were warm. I then checked the temp of the centre hub and it was uncomfortable to touch. Certainly hotter than I thought it would be.
I compared them with the fronts and it was completely the opposite.. very little heat at all.
So given that... is it normal for heat in this area, if not, then friction is still an issue and I'm guessing the calipers are still an issue, or could it be bearings ?
Peter.
Sounds like the bearings have been tightened too much.

It does seem to point to the calipers it could be the pins they
are the common thing and when serviced properly should
be lubricated.
If your calipers are getting on in years the piston could be
starting to seize did you inspect behind the rubber boot for
pitting or dirt.
Are pads wearing on inside or outside.
Rear brakes don't do nearly as much work,
it is good practice to do a emergency stop every couple of
weeks this will test your system for pressure and help keep
pistons free and lessen the rust forming on rear discs.
Ok, back to the mechanics then. It was all done due to the state of things at the last oil change as described.
One day I'll get away with a trip to the mechanics for less than $2k...![]()
