    Ok..

Autos don't suffer if you change to 4.11s Manuals often do lose cruise control.

Changing the diff rations on a D2 only fixes the rpm the engine is doing, it will not correct the speedo which is tracking the pulses from the now slower rotating wheels.

The reason the ECU cuts cruise control is that the gearing changes the rpm outside the expected range vs speed and the ECU thinks 'this is wrong'.

Only going on info given too me from Slunnie, he does know quite a bit about D2s, and is a whealth of knowledge on them, one of the reasons I didn't go 4.11s on mine, I stuck with 32s and standard gearing.
    Cheers Baz.

    Speedo......Actual
    102............110
    93..............100
    74?..............80

I think it works out at 7.5% on mine.
Around town I keep 10km under to be safe.
On big trips I use the laptop for maps and the GPS screen.

I have the same size tires on my D2a, however I purchased a C1600 speedo correction unit and installed that on the ECU. It has worked a treat. There are posts on AULRO with more information.

I was under the impression it is a C6100.

Either way it is alot cheaper than a truspeed, but only single size setting not the switchable one.

I found this webpage to be a great place for info on D2s

    www.slunnie.com - Aussie Built Rovers

I also used to go too Tombie page also, but that has gone.

The D2au Yahoo site, this is where 4X4Intellegence started.

I have those exact tyres. I tested my displayed speed against actual speed as measured by gps and radar. With full tread, I established I just need to travel at 9 tenths of my target actual speed E.g travel at 54kmh for 60kmh, 72kmh for 80kmh, 91kmh for 100kmh.

10%. That's what my BFG muddies at 265/75/16 read at. 100 on speedo is 110 actual and it is linear.
