    Which head gasket?

    How do I know which head gasket I need? 1 hole 2 hole or 3 hole?
    Its a 2000 my td5 auto

    You normally replace like with like.


    Aare you just replacing the gasket or are you replacing the head?

    Does the TD5 gasket have a protrusion where the holes are visible like a TDI ?

    Just replacing the gasket & dowels, but I want to have the parts on hand before I start rather than pulling it apart & then ordering the relevant head gasket.

    Probably do injector seals rear cam cover & front main seal while I'm at it

    Yes at the front passenger side you can see how many holes.

    More checks

    Check the head is flat
    check the exhaust manifold is straight
    Use new bolts nuts studs.
    Remove and fit new genuine heater plugs.
    Remove and reseal the welsh plug.

    Bit more cost but you know it's been done.
