4" lift options

Lengthening the rear ACE down links to the axles alters it's action. This makes a significant difference to the twitchiness while driving, under brakes and stability after turn in. My setup allows me to run front down links in the rear without crashing the ACE ram into the floor or the chassis mount from running the ram into the Xmembers.

Interesting stuff thanks. I know a guy here in the Uk with a big lift that has done the same, plus also put d3 links on the front which are also longer.

Got to be worth testing this out I think. Thanks

So I presume it's best to have the ACE arms as level as possible?

I haven't looked at mine to see how they are. I'm up just under 2 inches.

That's interesting at the front. I only shimmed mine down by about 5mm to gain clearance to the Panhard chassis mount.

For the rear at least. The entire rear of the D2 is generally the part that is hard to control. I'm not sure if you will be able to get much out of a 2" lift because even though the static ride height is 2" higher, which relates to the ACE sway bar angle, the limiting factor may be that the compressed height of the suspension is still basically the same as with a standard vehicle, so that might possibly not allow for longer links.

Sort of. I have SLS with lifting blocks under the bags and I was warned about the bags bottoming out so I have extended my bump stops by 25mm. Sort of means I don't get a whole lot out of my lift. Up 2 inches but only 1 inch more travel. It may mean that I can adjust the ACE angle though.

Yes

I have the LRA 4" kit which ended a little higher because of the springs I picked, it was one of the best things I did to my D2, I have no rubbing or castor issues as its all addressed in the kit. It’s not a simple kit or quick kit to fit, but worth it. The only thing I did not like was the short 2” extensions on the brakes, would have preferred new hoses, which I will do one day and the other issue was the rear ABS cable RHS kept popping off so I made 4” extensions off a wreck I bought for all four corners and never looked back. I would highly recommend this kit if you want to have serious fun off-road:D...Joe

Have ordered longer droplinks for the rear, hopefully fit at the weekend and will report back.
