Shot front ball joints on steering knuckles can cause vibration under braking.

    Cheers

4 years on,, I wonder if the fixes worked!

Hmm,, mine's just started to shudder with the van on,,
I've been wanting to throw some really soft pads up front,, this might be the time..

ant thoughts on brands of SOFT pads, forget about brake dust and creek crossings

My Td5 also does this under light braking.
It has been lifted, but I had the alignment done when I bought it and aside from a worn steering rod-end it was all good.
Replacing the steering rod made a big difference, but it never went away fully.

I do get pedal feedback, too, but this had always been part of the shaking, and with 3 sets of discs and new pads it hasn't stopped.
Looks like I am going to have to get serious and find a dial indicator to check the hubs for run-out.
