    Question Instrument pack light replacement.

    G'day all.
Asking on behalf of a work colleague. He replaced the lights in his instrument pack on his 2000 Td5 Disco. He removed the plug off the back of the unit and replaced the globes. Refitted everything and now the car won't start. I thought you have to "re sync" the instrument pack to the BCU using a Nanocom?. Am I on the money here or could something else be amiss?.
    Regards

If it is the original instrument pack and all ? he did was change globes I do not think so. It sounds to me as if he has upset something else connection wise.

if the odometer is flashing it will need to be synced but that should not cause any starting issue

Oki we need a definition of "will not start". Is it turning over? is there any lights/telltales on the instrument panel? Is the fuel pump whirring?(dont laugh, I have seen 1 shutoff and 20 mins later not start, pump had died!) Any stuff not working that should be?

I had mine out the other day and it started fine even without the odometer being synced I would suspect possibly a short has occurred in this case and would check all fuses and proceed from there

    Ok, more info guys
The car does not even turn over on the starter. The dash lights cycle on and then off as per normal, however, if he turns on the wipers it turns over momentarily? wiring issue?
Also, as it is an auto, on the odo display where it indicates where the auto is selected it is flashing with spanner icon.
    Mmmmmmmmmm.
I'm hooking up my Nanocom to it tomorrow arvo.

try re[lacing/ recharging the battery. Anything under 11.5 volts sends a D2 haywire! Really gets it upset thing is how competent is your mate at replacing wiring in the correct plugs?

I replaced mine with blue LED's about a year ago and never had an issue.
