    www.discovery2.co.uk / Front Springs

The spring lenght information in the tables is taken from RAVE for a Right Hand Drive Discovery 2. The spring combinations are either both the same lenght OR drivers side is longer.
A table that lists 50% with the same spring both sides and 50% with mismatched springs while recommending the same spring both sides with a winch.

You'll notice those spring combinations were released with the 4.6 V8 for "other markets".
Sounds like those "other markets" are LHD, particularly north america.

In ALL RHD applications the RHS spring is longer than the LHS spring, this applies to the front and rear in non-SLS models.

Where as in ALL LHD applications both springs are the same lenght, again this applies to the front and rear in non-SLS models.

So looking at the free lenght of the LHD models to the free lenght of the RHD models, to me, it would indicate that the 'natural' weight of the Discovery 2 is higher on the RHS, meaning that in a RHD model a longer spring is required to allow for the 'nominal' the weight of the driver.

Screen shots from Edition 6 of RAVE.

I agree with you up to there. But this following

Is pure conjecture. Do landrover say anywhere the longer springs are for "the weight of the driver"?
How does a stock, unmolested D2 sit on a completely flat surface?

As I wrote earlier, every stock vehicle I've measured has been lower on the drivers side.
I run my EAS rangie 5-10mm lower on the drivers side and my coil spring RRC too.[/QUOTE]

    Drivers weight is rubbish.
    I think you're stirring?

I have read some of your turbo stuff and I think you know better but you just like to test your own intelligence by trying to convince someone the opposite of what you know is right?

    Happy Days.
