IMHO Plastic dowels only deform when something else is wrong. If you are replacing the head gasket etc, then by all means replace the dowels. But if it ain't broke...Quote:

If you compare actually instances of things like plastic dowels warping with the amount of vehicles that have them IMHO I think you'd be surprised how few of them there are. I think you are right. The LR engines typically are not forgiving of abuse but the moral is dont abuse them...
