Made up some LEDs for how my air suspension is working

I made up a small circuit so I have both up and down lights for left and right sides rather then just up and down then left and right. If that makes sense.

Maybe a better way to explain it is: If only one side is going up or down then I will only have one LED on.

As there are 4 valves (or usually 3 valves and the compressor), up, down, left and right, the easiest way to do it would have a LED on each valve. Then one LED would come on for up or down and then either 1 or 2 more LEDs would come on weather it be Left, Right or both sides adjusting. But nothing else is simple about the Disco so why should this be any different.

So I will tap positive from the left and right valves. Each will go to the positive leg of 2 LEDs on each side. Then the negative leg of the 2 down LEDs will go to the Emitter leg of a transistor and the same for the 2 up LEDs to another transistor. Each tranisitor is a Negative/Positve/Negative transistor so the Base leg of up transistor will go to the up valve and same for the down transistor to the down valve. Then the collector leg to Ground (Negative). So when only one side is working both up and down LEDs for that side will get a positve feed and then the negative for either the up or down LEDs will be switched by the transistor when it gets a positve feed from either the up or down valve. I think that should be clear as mud.

I'm looking for ideas where to put them. One downside to the Disco is there is no free dash space for gauges or stuff like this.

    Happy Days.

    Mounting

I have a voltage guage in a gutted out volumetric sensor
fitted in the slot beside the front interior light you could use
that or put some holes in the overhead console in the middle
would be the best place it will be more relative to what is
    happening at a quick glance.

might I suggest using a 7 seven segment led?

i think this is a great idea but as i have no idea about electrics, could i keep it simple? i was thinking of having 1 LED to let me know when the compressor is running. will it work if it`s tapped into the compressor 12volt power or will it need to go somewhere else? What bits and pieces would i need to make the LED come on, the same resistors etc as you use?
    Thanks for the info, cheers
