buyer is aware of issue and sale price was dropped to allow them to fix after they had collected the car.

They just want the rwc and then they are happy to fix this one issue and in no way wish to put a bad post via this forum as it has been an invaluable source of information for me

Until you fix the problem correctly the lights will keep returning. You can clear the faults with a device like a Nanocom, but when the vehicle is driven next (i.e. to the place for the RWC) it will sense the fault again and illuminate the warning lights again.

If you want to hide it you would need to remove the light globes from the back of the instrument cluster (not recommended).
    Or fix the issue.

The vehicle isn't really roadworthy if it has this fault, so why bother getting the RWC until it's fixed?

Plenty of us have had the 3 amigos come up, reset and not had it reappear for years. Even Land Rover work shops have done inspections for people, found no obvious fault, reset and recommended just throwing parts and burning cash on the problem which many of us would say thanks but no thanks to their gracious offers to take our cash. For me personally the fault has never come back since I stopped taking my Disco to LR for servicing (I have reset it only once in the last 5 years). Obviously this is just a coincidence.

To the OP - give the guys at Romsey British Automotive a call, get them to inspect and confirm OK and reset and give these details to the buyer so they can confirm what you have done. If you had just asked the question - how do I reset the fault, you probably would have had offers from fellow AULRO members to use their Hawkeye or Nanocom unit to reset for you as often it is just an intermittent fault that if reset goes away. Romsey can probably also do the RWC for you at the same time if you want to be totally open with the buyer, and I would encourage the buyer to also research this fault to be well informed.

And if you trying to rip a buyer off, then this is all on record now.....would be nice to see a post from the buyer seeking advice or confirming they understand what they are doing.

If your up for a an hours drive you could come to Bacchus Marsh tomorrow(Monday).
I've got a day in the workshop for work so can't go far.

We can throw the Nanocom on it.
This may not stop the lights but should guide you to where the problem lies.
It could then be fixed prior to the RWC.
If your lucky it may just be an option B fix which could be done on the spot.

If interested slip me a PM as I'll be back on tonight.
    Cheers, Kyle

    hi alien

thanks for the offer but the car is interstate with a family member and I have not had it for over 6 months now.

if it were that easy to reset I will have them get / ask a dealer to try that and see if it works.

for the record I am NOT trying to rip the buyer off in any shape or form.. the car has been maintained to an extremely high standard since new and was advised by my family member selling it they knew off the fault etc.. if it has to be fixed it will be, no questions asked. ..

Mine still throws 3 Amigoes from time to time, most of the time I dont need to use the nanocom to clear,it self clears on re-start.
The vehicle may only have an intermittent fault that has reached the 254 times for the ECU to make the lights stay on.
Which state and where is the vehicle if you want help to try a reset????

The car is in Victoria but i am mid nsw and have been for over 2 years.

It goes in for its roadworthy tomorrow and as I have said, if it has to be fixed, will import the parts from the UK and have it fixed for the buyer. Simple as that
