    discovery radio code

hi my father's battery has been disconnected and now needs code put in. have contacted l/r and waiting for reply on code but he was given a tag when he bought the car (new) the problem is the code on the tag has zero's in it but there are none on the cd head unit to input. is there a way around the code as we can access a nanocom if required. is there another avenue to get the codes as he rang l/r early Friday morning and was told to expect a call after lunch but still waiting the next day

    Disco 1 or 2?
I just found this on the 'net, it may not apply to yours:

you select the character position with the channel numbers and scroll up and down with the normal scan buttons.
    Is this radio he has?

So if I'm correct, that's the unit in the newer facelift D2 models (2003/2004) - It's a Visteon single slot load CD/AM/FM unit

If, for example, your code is 4500 ....

    Push button 1 FOUR times
    Push button 2 FIVE times
    Push button 3 TEN times
    Push button 4 TEN times

THEN push the RIGHT arrow button ONCE (this is on the far right hand side )

Done ! Hope that gets you where you need to be.

This is the way I do my D1 and D2. The D2 has a Harmen Karden system.

The picture did not appear in the quote but you can click the link.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
