I have done some more reading, and it seems the hub to arch distance is different between front and the rear. With a smaller gap at the rear. This would make a bit of sense as there seems to be a different amount of space between the arch the the line that the length of the car.
Still stupid that I have a 2inch spacer in there to achieve what I have. Will be interesting to see how the Dobinsons go.
True. Mine v was from factory a little raked - they are all different.
Cheers
Double post.
Running King Springs HD linear in the rear. Carries 60kg on the roof, lpg tanks, cargo bay full of gear, beer and ice, tows trailer + dirt bikes. Sits nicely.
Removed the Terrafirma 2" springs and the 2" spacer and put in just the Dobinson 2" springs and the rear only dropped 10mm. Gives me much more confidence in the performance of these springs.
Although the lift is still only 35mm over stock, as opposed to the advertised 50mm lift.
Ill give it a week to settle then make a custom block to sit under the bottom plate to lift it a bit more.
I fitted King Springs to my D2, ride height is great and is not too stiff when vehicle is unloaded, ended up fitting air bags to cope with the load of the camper trailer and back of car full with fridges ect.
Fit air bags they are great and keep the car nice and level.
When I was looking for springs I'm pretty sure Dobsons told me they only did a 30mm rather than a 50mm as the Disco 'is already top-heavy'.
Then again, may have been ARB/OME.
Singlecell
Thanks
What where the specs or order number of the Dobinsons ?
as that sounds an ideal lift for me 30-35mm
Interested in how they sit after a week or two as well
regards
