I'd recommend air bags inside the springs. Most of the time I only run minimum air in them, but when loading up for a trip pump them up.
I've probably had them for 10 years or so now. Been simply excellent.

About 10 months ago I fitted a Terrafirma 2" medium weight lift to my D2a. This weight fitted with my bull bar/winch fitted. What I didn't realise at the time is that there was this information on the Terrafirma website about the rear springs:
"It can also be used on the rear of a Discovery 2 but will not carry the same load and may not achieve 2 inch of lift."
After fitting the kit the rear was noticeable lower then the front. Enough so I fitted a white tiger 2" spacers to the rear springs to lift it higher. This made the car look great with the rear sitting maybe an inch higher then the front. All until I broke my stock rear bumper and replaced it with a metal one and the rear sagged down so now it sits maybe a 5mm or so lower then the front. Now with the front measuring 540mm from centre hub to the wheel arch which is a decent 40mm over stock. The rear measuring 35mm over stock, and having the 50mm spacer in there, show the current Terrafirma springs are doing a worse job then the stock ones... Now am I crazy or am I missing something?
Now this doesn't look so bad but it leaves me with little faith in how the springs will handle a full camping load, especially if I end up doing a roof cage.
I was hoping to get some information from people who have fitted 2" rear springs and are getting a decent lift out of it, which is handling a full loaded car.
I know Terrafirma does a heavy 2" rear spring but the site says its for a constant 300kg load. Also I dont know if I beleive them....
Sorry for the long post, and I hope it makes sense, but its been a long day and I am fairly tired...

I had considered that, and its something I would do if I was just trying to reduce the sag when loaded up. But I feel at the moment it would be more just covering up the issue or a poor performing springs.
At the moment I am looking at taking out the rear springs and spacers and replacing them both with Dobinson 2" lift springs and seeing how it sits.
The Dobbo 2 I have in mine. I have lph tanks and false floor in mine and it is sweet. Another 160kg of boat trailer nose weight drops it a little but not much and my bags - coilrite - deal with that. Make sure linear not progressive for the rear.

To up the rate they sometimes need to make them progressive to increase the free length.

The Terrafirma springs are rated as
Medium TF023V 300-340lbf/in Free Length 17.1"
Heavy TF027V 360lbf/in Free Length 17.1"
I'm running Les Richmond Automotive White/Green springs 270lbf/in Free Length 17.8" and these give me a hub to guard measurement of 525mm (Factory is 483mm) with a full tank of fuel.
So if you are only 35mm over stock with 50mm spacers I think you don't have the correct springs (TF023V).

Here's a tip...
Stop using Terrafirma...
Fancy marketing of an only average product.
You can tell by their marketing strategy the market their budget priced gear is aimed at.. +5" shocks etc are all aimed at those who think it's all about mega flex.
Go see a local producer and get some decent shocks and some decent shocks.
You won't look back![]()
Get an SLS setup - then it'll always be the same height regardless of the weight (until a bag leaks at least)!
Dobo 2 inch lift with bags and Billies. This was not fully flexed but close.
Cheers
