Yes, CAT 175-4370 (100AH) or Supercharge Alrounder 120AH is the way to go.

The dual battery tray is nice but does not actually give you any extra AH capacity for running your fridge and is a considerably more expensive setup.

If you need more than 120AH then you have the rear bins which will both fit another 120AH battery each of the same case size.

CAT are available from William Adams in Clayton for ~$179 inc GST.

Just make sure you take a good digital multimeter with you when you buy any battery of course to check it hasn't been sitting around for a year.

Perhaps not, but it would allow you to run dual batteries - one could be an Optima Yellowtop which can be safely run down without damaging the battery, and leaving the second battery still available and fully charged to start the vehicle.

Agree - I wonder how often the Yellow Tops can handle a deep discharge without affecting their life significantly?

They are fine. on paper the numbers don't appear to match the "high" numbers given by other brands but as explained to me by Tim (Drivesafe) they are a great all rounder, dealing with starting, winching and deep cycling. The tray, 2 x D34 yellow tops and a USI-160 dual battery kit you'll be wanting for nothing.

Mine is currently at least 5 years old now (as I removed it from a previous vehicle to fit into the D2) and it's installed next to the turbocharger which would likely cause a premature death.

The unit I had before that died prematurely, apparently the reason was that it was run down flat and not recharged for a few months.

I purchased the Catapiller battery it has work well for two years.
As a side issue I bought a lifting strap as per pic from Comet for $6 really useful

Thanks everyone, had initially thought I would just replace the battery but after looking at the tray I might go dual battery!!
