ARB Bull bar - Real life test.

I have wondered about the strength of these bars and unfortunately hit a reasonable sized roo at 90km/h. I hit it straight in the middle on it's up jump meaning that I hit it on the two cross bars and not the main bumper bar in the middle. This caused the roo to lift up and luckily forward and not through the windscreen. The roo was dead on impact and to my surprise no sign of damage to the bulbar. Glad to know that they can take a bit of a hit! If I didn't have it I think my car would be in a mess and potentially leave me stranded on the side of the road.

Sunova, after a big hit it is wise to check your mounting bolts.

I had several big hits on mine and the bolts were in shear by about 1mm.

If they are damaged don't upgrade to a tougher bolt because then the chassis will suffer instead of the bolts.

Some have done this and the mounting holes in the chassis are ovulated....is that the right word? they are oval because the bolts are harder than the chassis steel.

I've got a photo of a mates D2 winch bar somewhere.
It's taken a tow hitch to the winch cradle (not pretty) and about 4 full sized roos.
A couple of small dents but besides that it's fine
