Fuel tank leak?

My high pressure line wore through from the unused height sensor wiring at the RH corner of the tank.
If you want a temporary fix and it is there you should be able to unclip the pipe union which is about 120MM forward , cut the pipe before the leak and fit a length of 7MM high pressure fuel line with clamps. It is all very tight up there.
The other main wear place is where the pipe turns right just in front of the fuel pump. You are on your own there.
BUT you can buy either a full 4 pipe manifold from Rovakraft or similar for $270 including freight, or the high pressure line itself for about $100. ( ebay the Newcastle mob) all4x4?

Seeing you have to drop the tank to do either , I bought the full monty.

I wondered that also when I helped the only 2 cars that I found on my lap of OZ with problems and both were D2s>LOL
But I had only the fuel line in 18000Km including GRR. I knew about the fuel line problem but didn't check although I did the other knowns like the oil pump bolt as this causes disaster, and the FPR and the injection harnessetc etc.
The other problems I have are Land Rover Generic like the leaking input seal on the LT230, Hmm the front ball joints are a D2 specific bitch though.

Guilt as charged!

Green fuel line had rubbed though.

Almost exactly te same place as mine.
The culprit on mine was the unused wiring loom and plug just there.
At my request The mechanic wrapped mine in foam tape and then zip tied the wiring to it to prevent movement.

Thanks. I noticed the unused plug also. I think i'll do the same as you have.

I've replaced the green fuel line and the car runs much better now. The engine appears to run smoother above 3500 rpm as well which probably isn't a surprise.

The black line also had signs of rubbing so i wrapped that with some emergency tape stuff, worked well.

The green line came with a piece of rubber with an adhesive edge similar to an envelope. It did't have instructions but i wrapped all 4 lines with it and stuck the rubber to itself. Seems it works fine.
