    Tom Wood, fit and forget.
That LRA one looks like a Tom Wood shaft with the yellow seals on the unis.

    Hi Guys,

My front prop shaft failed a few thousand K's ago, had to drive home from Purnululu NP to Melbourne without it. Luckily it started clicking at slow speeds, and we removed it before it let go.

I've been looking at a few replacements, as stated the Tom Woods shaft looks to be the best. There also appears to be quite a few that are based off the Tom Woods design that come in a few $100 less (also from the USA). They all have greaseable 1310 universal joints and the greaseable CV.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these:

I ended up getting the Dynamic Driveline shaft from eBay; was less than $350 shipped.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261561396526

It looks pretty well built; has all the right greasing points which is good.

Shipping took a couple of weeks, and the box it arrived in looked worse for wear, but the shaft was fine.

I guess only time will tell how it lasts.

Spicer just did all joints inc nylon ball in mine, new boots, balanced, painted for $400. Heavy duty unis used. Feels tight as a drum and I can tell because mines a manual. Look at Discoweb and the recent threads on Tom Woods shafts. I am having Spicers do my rear unis and balance now as it got a vibration after the lift and new rotoflex. Rears had done 250,000 k.

    Cheers
