    Transfer case

    Can anyone tell if a d1 transfer case will fit a td5 d2 and can I use the d1 shift lever thanks.

    Yes it will but....
    1/ You need to change the front output flange from the D2 box to fit the front shaft.
    2/ You will not have a position to fit the high/low switch from the D2 box.
    You could have an in dash switch to do this if you felt so inclined.
    This switch enables different/revised mapping for low range and alters shift characteristics of the auto.
    3/ The D2 box is quieter than a D1 box.
    4/ Shift lever can be used but will require some mods.

    still looking into this but after searching i have found some info saying D2 TC is stronger and quieter. only recently stumbled across this my self
