About right for me too. Can't see it stretching to 1000, but long straight trip could do. No mods.

I guess you have an Auto. I average 9.5-10 l/100kms depending on how hard I drive so typically fill up around the 900km mark. Mine is a manual. Used to average close to 9 before I started to pursue performance mods.

I recently got 9.6l per 100 on a long highway drive. That's in a remapped auto. Its a lot worse around town but that is due to my driving style.

How many litres are you putting in? I'll get about that many km when my fuel light comes on, but there is still probably 20 litres in the tank at that point.

My lifetime average fuel consumption(manual D2) tends to be around 9.5l/100km, and that's driving from Melbournes Eastern suburbs to the city at tradie hours with a remap, intercooler, more boost, and straight through centre muffler. I have seen as low as 8.9l/100km, think it was due to lots of time on the Eastern freeway travelling at between 60 and 80 km/h, and just leaving it in fifth - only need very light throttle to keep with the traffic flow. Also manage to sneak home via free flowing 70/80km/h back roads... Tanks either side were under 9.1l/100km, so I don't believe it to be an error.

My best highway consumption is only 9.6l/100km - damn you aerodynamics!

Hitting more stop start traffic where the first three gears are required can drop the economy as far as 10.5l/100km, especially since I have an aversion to 'grandma' takeoffs. Last tank was indeed a 10.5, now with a patrol VNT fitted. That was a mix of driving to and up Mt Buller, plenty of highly frustrating stop start traffic, and quite a bit of testing towards and over 4,000 rpm. I'm back on the early morning run down the freeway now though, so it will be interesting to see if the VNT makes any difference to the economy.
