I'd keep an eye on that DM, sounds to me it could be the system is pressurising and could be the signs of a failing head gasket.

Epic, if your losing water and there's no sign of a leak, check the dipstick for water in your oil, just to be safe.

I'll bet you both have failing head gaskets, TD5s don't like over heating, so I would get things checked right away, if you overheat them to often, the head will fail.

Hey epic, I'll have to have a look at my fuel cooler but I thought that when I did the orings on mine, I needed to do a little bit of manipulation to the cooler body. It had been made 'not round' so the plastic end cap didn't seat all the way in. Your pic looks like the plastic lugs on the end cap aren't seated all the way into the cooler body, have a look at the pics in here and compare www.discovery2.co.uk - Leaking Fuel Cooler Fix

Which could be why it is still leaking, its the oring that seals it not the clamp. The clamp just stops the end cap from coming back out

water in oil is first thing i check for, and not a drop. oil is all fine. the fuel cooler is the definate cuprit. i unbolted it before, and its still leaking out the one end. ill have a look at how its seated in there. its easier to manipulate now that it isnt bolted in. i also have one bolt underneath missing!!!! i do want to go get it tested incase head gasket is failing. i am not sure who to see though.

I do keep my eye on it Baz. Never runs hot, never gotten hot in my ownership. And when I can get the cap to seal properly, never a problem. If the cap is chucking a wobbly (i.e I've disturbed it) I get a slight hiss because it's not sealing properly, I've checked the O-ring in it and it's FUBAR. Keep the bottle there because my Td5, like most, likes to find it's own coolant level. As I said, I filled it and bled it and it pushed a bit out, since then not a drop.
However I precautionary head gasket swap is on the cards soon.
