i think you are right, under the centre console cubby box there is one of those motion sensors. I have found anything in the front chassis like an airbag crush can with wire coming from it

nice, then i guess there is always the xrox bar which is in-between a full bull bar and the straight bar, and for the price the xrox bar seems good value. Thanks for your replies.... just need to wait for my tax money

I have seen lots of croc bars bend and not stand up to winching. Look into that.

By 'croc' I assume you mean 'croc of ****?' Or does croc mean something else? I know the first four bars are good quality and have heard good things about them. Not so much about bearmach but that might just be a rumor.

Xrox are ugly. If you want a good approach angle bar that can house a winch, these types are pretty good.
Plenty of pommy boys run them with airbags...
Keep in mind the bumper lights will probably fill up with water

The srs compatibility has nothing to do with the air bag sensors. It has to do with the way in which the car (standard bumper ) absorbs shock ( the crash) hence there are "crush cans" in between the bumper and the chassis rails.

Altering the rate at which these absorb the shock, will have an effect on how quickly/slowly the srs will deploy.

Phat-Customs that is a great explanation makes me think about not fitting a non airbag bar.

Imagine getting hit in the face by someone swinging a bat full force trying to "knock your block off".......

That's what happens when you mess with the air bag deployment timing by putting non compliant bars on cars.

This is how an air bag tech once described it to me many years ago, and it can be a fatal mistake.

And yes, it is all about the crush cans as stated above.
