Well that's exactly what makes it better than the Toyotas and Nissans.

I am also missing about 4 inches of flex and I'll get to that but then it will be even better again. I just need taller front strut towers and white tiger rear bottom shock mount lifts.

do you have CDL fitted /engaged - wondering if it made a difference or if it was traction control only.
    Cheers

Yes mate. I have the CDL and it was engaged. I had climbed underneath and put it in earlier in the day. I don't have a leaver or any other way of engaging it other than climbing under with a 10mm spanner.

To be fair, drivers skill level has a bit to do with as well..... put their cars in the hands of someone who knows what their doing and the result "might" have been a whole lot different....

I can post their attempts. 80 series guy at least had a fair bit of experience under his belt. I'm not saying the other guys weren't experienced either and they all had decent goes at the hill.

There was no way the Prado was ever going to make it. When we winched it over the top it bellied out big time.

The bottom was perfect offset holes. Even though it looked like I kept all wheels in contact with the ground in my second run up, there was just very loose dirt in the holes that we had kicked in with our feet. It would have been near impossible to make it without a diff lock. The 80 series didn't have lockers. The HiLux only had standard road pattern tyres.

The Nissan I drove around I could say he was just in experienced. He went it slow the first time then went to the other extreme. It sounded pretty mean and there's every chance it was laggy off turbo and then out of control on boost.

    ECB, mate.

I had to chop the center of the skirt out to make an opening for the winch. It's good and strong for an alloy. I never had much faith in Alloy bars before and I was pretty careful with it but I hit a couple of roos in central QLD last year and now I just don't worry about it.

The winch is mounted in a cradle separate to the bar.

Personalized plates are cheap in the NT. Bathurst is home but we haven't lived there for about 12 years and haven't lived anywhere for longer than 4 years. There's a chance I might be moving from the NT in near future. We just lost.

    Happy Days.
