Thread: Auto trans cooler pipe from tranny

You need to use a std spanner, but flip it every 1/12th of a turn as you can't get a full flat rotation on it. Unfortunately it may be tightened into a spot that the spanner doesn't fit either way. Try to find someone with a crows foot spanner for an extension and ratchet. It'll at least get it started.

Happened to me last year nearly about this time of the year I think. There is special spanner they for pipe I cannot remeber what they call it. If you do search here cooker pipe you will what needed to undo the pipe.

I had to remove the exhaust from the holder to give more room.

You will need to be calm and alot of patients

You need a 19mm Crows Foot spanner

If you have the gear modify an old three quarter AF ring spanner. Cut 12mm out to slip it over the pipe and heat and bend the shaft near the head to shape the spanner to suit. You also need 10mm and 8mm spanners to remove the securing lugs. Suggest you do both of them as the other one may "pop" as well.

Thanks for the above advice, the first one told me I could do it, that got me going, the others were taken onboard, and, Harry I was just thinking what about the other one, it's the only piece left of the puzzle that hasn't been replaced.

Did the tranny a couple of months ago (got it done), I'd put a hole in the cooler and bogged it up 7-8 months ago, so now all that is left is the return pipe to the transmission.
