I would happily use one of these if the hoses were all ok. Although I would go for one that has the same pressure as OE. The bonus with this one is if it started leaking you could run a hose from it back to the tank.

My only reason for not using this in mine is it started leaking only a week before a planned trip and I would not have got it in time.

Has anybody used these or any replacement diaphragm? Would love to hear people's experiences, longevity of the replacement, reliability/quality of the product.

I think you will find he is referring to Volkswagen, apparently Audi and Volkswagen use the same fuel pressure regulator.

Here's a couple of part numbers to cross reference


VW / Audi n/p 078133534C
Bosch n/p 0.280.160.575

It might help if you are need a VW dealer.

So, I've managed to replace my fuel pressure regulator. I was unable to replace the top hose as i didn't have enough time to work out how to do it.

I do however need to replace the top hose.

What is the easiest way to remove the hose? I'm thinking it is not possible to replace without removing the intake manifold or the alternator.

So did you change the whole kit and caboodle or just the diaphragm bit?

Yeah i replaced the whole thing, apart from the top hose only because i couldn't get it off.

After doing it i'm of the opinion it is not necessary to replace the whole thing. I was thinking of putting a kit into my old FPR and sell it to someone else who needs one.

The only possible thing that could bring someone undone is the top fuel hose. Apparently it is not possible to buy it separately.

I think it would be possible to buy the seal kit with regulator and get someone like Enzed to make a fuel line cheaper than what LR charge for a new FPR. Maybe they could uses a different style of fitting to make it easier to install and removed again if it was required.

Parts required:
O-ring for engine behind FPR gasket
FPR Gasket
Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR)
O-rings for hoses
(Top hose possibly required as it gets hot and goes hard)
