Madman 2 high EGT alarm setting?

Yeah don't get me wrong, I very rarely push it that hard, usually trundle around keeping egt between 400-600, cruises at very low temps, but it's only right at WOT when temps get up there.....hey and assuming my egt gauge is accurate too.
I'm getting a new one soon so current temps will be verified anyway....

Kev, I would recommend you look at getting it retuned. Mine used to run hot with the first tune, but I spoke to TD5Inside and he adjusted it for me to suit. The end result is that I now have lower EGT, don't get over 700*C as easily and the loss in power was minimal (also got rid of the black smoke).

i'm sure RAVE speaks about TI temperature so that 700 measured at TO seems logical ...though i dont have a clue

Be careful with the Bruce Davis tune. Mine had one of his tunes before I bought it. I bought a Nanocom and found I had a atmospheric pressure senor fault. Turned out I was having the fault because the tune was for a EU3 motor and I have an EU2 motor. The EU3 (post 2003) has a atmospheric pressure sensor and the EU2 doesn't. As there was no senor input the ECU used a default which put it at 600m below sea level and made it over fuel.

I contacted Bruce Davis to have the problem fixed but he didn't want to know about it.

Over fueling can cause high EGTs.

Jose at TD5inside looked after me and I haven't looked back since.

Yep, BD tunes have a bit of a rep for running hot.
It's also not ideal to be running an EU3 base map on an EU2 motor.

I don't have the nnn ecu so can't be tuned. The car doesn't smoke though. I'll have to get a nnn ecu and got the td5 inside path.....I was heading this way anyway....after getting a vnt turbo.....just have to be careful on the pedal and watch the egt gauge:D

I got this ECU From Offtrack so I have no idea if it's eu2 or 3. Nanocom shows no faults though....

I dare say it will be an EU2 tune as I seem to recall OffTrack sorted his EU3 issue.
You should find that with a correctly set up EU2 based tune on an NNN ecu with a VNT your EGTs shouldn't be as high.
Why?
More even boost capacity, more boost = lower EGTS. Also, you shouldn't have to work the motor as hard to perform, also lower EGTs.
