D2 GONE AT GREAT FINANCIAL LOSS

My 2000 d2 7 seater finally drove out the gate yesterday.Still remember the first time i saw it,first words were"Oh yeah!"Paid $27.000 for it to replace my P38.After 6 or so years and lots spent, had to let it go for $4.500Is still a nice vehicle, has a surging issue and a drip from the oil cooler, but still good.D2's seem to have dropped through the floor as far as value goes. Some d1's are dearer.

And Mate, you're right! I've seen V8 D1s go for double what you sold yours for

discos/land rovers are cheap because they have a bad reputation for reliability.

whether or not that reputation is deserved or not is debatable.

I was looking at a D2a HSE Td5 about a year ago. Under 300,000km on the clock. They were asking $26,000.
It could have been mine for $20,000.
I was too late. It sold.

I think it is difficult to shift all cars at the moment. No one is buying.

Now you would be lucky to get $12,000,probably less.Nice as the d2 was,my old p38 was much nicer to drive, and my L322 nicer again.

    $12 K ????

You're dreamin..... There are better bargains out there.
I picked up a 99 TD5, 7seater, with ACE and 139K km about 4 or so years ago for under $13K. I have done well with the money I saved on the purchase price.
Spent the money I saved on upgrades. Be a little bit thrifty and you will be amazed at the bargains you can get. Yes I have done some work on the vehicle($), but that's because I can.
Oil leaks??? Show me a LR with out one!!!
I had to travel to the middle of NSW from Melbourne on a 43 degree day to purchase my vehicle, but damn, I'm happy with what I've got.
You make your choices in life. If you don't like the outcome, don't ******. You made the decision....

    Cheers,

It's urgent sales that drop the values. Desperation equals stupidly low car prices.

I bought my v8 new 12 years ago...but it doesn't owe me anything. She has given me great joy and I still love jumping in and driving her after getting out of newer and arguably more high end vehicles.

    Cheers
