    seats front replacement

Has anyone fitted the APM front seats from 4wd systems in south Australia? What was your experience over standard, I suffer from a bad lower back and need more lumber and a longer seat cushion.

APT offer Recaros- APT Fabrication for Land Rover parts - RECARO Specialist - Front Seat | Discovery 1 | Discovery 2 | Range Rover.

Most interior trim shops should be able to help you out with a replacement option.

Maybe redoing the standards seats bolstering and padding could help.

Methinks that price for Recaros only includes the seat and stock Recaro runners , not specific runners for D2.

The problem with D2 is that the seat is is one piece including the runners and they are assymetric.

In addition the pyrotechnic seat belt pretensioner needs a specific mount .

My solution was to cut the seat off the seat base above the seat belt mounts and seat adjuster on either side and weld in steel runners so that the Recaros can be bolted on.
It was a LOT of work and should be approved by an engineer.

So unless you can do the work yourself , think carefully about the cost.

I saw a setup last year at the expo that had been done by ARB or someone for Recaros, and it was hideous and must have weighed 10KG a side.
I didn't take photos of my install but I can guide you if you are handy with a welder.
    Regards Philip A

Aaron called me about this the other day.
One suggestion I had was to see how close a D3 chair is to a D2 fit,D3 leather chairs are VERY comfy.
    Anybody looked into this????

Does the D3 have the pyrotechnic seat belt pretensioner specific mount?

After considering a few option I went electric leather seats from a d2 with 25'000k ...so like knew. With arm rests and many adjustments and lumbar pump....way cheaper than after markets and very comfy.

    Cheers

I talked to Triumph, Rover spares last week, not many quality interiors in stock atm, not many D@'s around with 25k on the clock any longer....
